The Difference Between Andersen® and Renewal by Andersen®

As a homeowner, you might think that Andersen® and Renewal by Andersen® are the same, and it’s not uncommon for most people to assume that. However, Renewal by Andersen is actually just the window replacement subsidiary of the Andersen Corporation, a company that has revolutionized the window and door business for almost 120 years.

Here at Renewal by Andersen of New Jersey, we’re committed to the Andersen tradition of over 110 years of quality, innovation, and craftsmanship. Humble Beginnings

Andersen was founded in 1903 by Danish immigrant Hans Andersen and his family in Hudson, Wisconsin, where logs arrived via the St. Croix River. Today, Andersen Corporation is headquartered in Bayport, Minnesota, and its subsidiaries manufacture and market door and window replacement products under several known brands, such as Andersen, Renewal by Andersen, EMCO®, Weiland, MQ™ and Heritage™. Andersen also employs more than 8,000 people with manufacturing sites in North America and Europe, and has earned the Sustained Excellence Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

How Andersen is Different from Renewal by Andersen

In simple terms, Renewal by Andersen is a division of Andersen Corporation that’s focused exclusively on the replacement market. Andersen Corporation still largely manufactures vinyl-clad wood windows for the new construction market, but Renewal by Andersen caters more to the replacement needs of homeowners who want top-quality windows that will last with minimal maintenance. As such, Renewal by Andersen has pioneered the development of our proprietary Fibrex® frame composite, which allows the possibility to create nearly any shape and size of windows.
