Top 5 Inspiring Window Wall Ideas

When doing a major remodeling project this year, consider having a window wall installed. In addition to its many benefits such as natural lighting and making your interior space look bigger, the increased number of windows also provides a panoramic view, better than any single picture window can provide.

Window Wall Ideas

Here are some of our design ideas for a new window wall:

  1. Harness natural lighting – Bigger windows mean increased amounts of natural light. In addition to its aesthetic health benefits, brighter indoor spaces can be an opportunity to try dark furniture, indoor trim, and accents. A window wall, for example, works wonder for interiors with odd angles that regular-sized windows can’t illuminate.

  2. Discreet ventilation – Window walls typically have awning windows positioned on top of picture windows for ventilation. While fairly effective for ventilation, it limits the panoramic view. Instead of awning windows, you can choose to combine a couple of casement or sliding windows, one at each end of the room, to provide ample ventilation no matter the size of the room. Our exclusive Fibrex® material lets us build slimmer frames, so operable window styles wouldn’t look out of place among the fixed ones.

  3. Secondary access – Consider adding a sliding door to your window wall for a more immersive view. This is perfect for lakeside properties or if you want to add access to an existing yard-facing wall. Our replacement windows and patio doors have colors and finishes in common that lets us build a seamless transition between window wall and patio door.

  4. Add it to existing doors – If your entry hall looks too dark, consider adding windows at the top of your main entry door. We can build custom window sizes, so non-standard door widths wouldn’t be a problem.

  5. Window walls also work with other window styles – Window walls are not just related to flat walls. For instance, you can have a floor-to-ceiling bay or bow window installed. At Renewal by Andersen®, we can build specialty windows if you need custom window shapes to fit unusual ceiling outlines.
